Background:
Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class 1 molecules bind to antigens for presentation on the surface of cells. The proteasome is responsible for producing these antigens from the components of foreign pathogens. MHC class 1 molecules consist of an a heavy chain that contains three subdomains (α1, α2, α3), and a non-covalent associating light chain, known as β-2-Microglobulin. β-2-Microglobulin associates with the a3 subdomain of the a heavy chain and forms an immunoglobulin domain-like structure that mediates proper folding and expression of MHC class 1 molecules. The α1 and α2 domains of the a heavy chain form the peptide antigen-binding cleft.
Alternative Name:
B2MG, Beta 2 microglobin, Beta 2 microglobulin, Beta 2 microglobulin precursor, Beta chain of mhc class 1 proteins, Beta chain of MHC class I molecules, Beta-2-microglobulin form pI 5.3, CDABP0092, Hdcma22p,
Application Dilution: WB: 1:500~1:2000, IHC: 1:50~1:200, IP 1:50 - 1:100
Specificity: B2M polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of B2M protein.
Immunogen:
Recombinant full length Human B2M.
MW: ~ 13 kDa
Swis Prot.: P61769
Purification & Purity:
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Format:
1mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide, 50% Glycerol.
Storage:
Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
