Background:
Bag-3 (Bcl-2-associated athanogene 3), also known as BIS or CAIR-1, is a 575 amino acid protein that contains one C-terminal Bag domain and two N-terminal WW domains. Like other members of the Bag family, Bag-3 functions to inhibit the chaperone activity of HSP 70, specifically by promoting the release of HSP 70-bound substrates. Additionally, Bag-3 exhibits anti-apoptotic activity via cell cycle control, suggesting a possible role for Bag-3 in tumor progression. The gene encoding Bag-3 maps to human chromosome 10, which houses over 1,200 genes and comprises nearly 4.5% of the human genome.
Alternative Name:
BAG 3, BAG family molecular chaperone regulator 3, BAG-3, Bag3, BAG3, Bcl 2 binding protein, Bcl-2-associated athanogene 3, Bcl-2-binding protein Bis, BCL2 associated athanogene 3, BCL2 binding athanogene 3, BIS, Docking protein CAIR 1, Docking protein CAIR-1,
Application Dilution: WB: 1:500~1:1000
Specificity: Bag-3 polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of Bag-3 protein.
Immunogen:
A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in Human Bag-3.
MW: ~ 62, 90 kDa
Swis Prot.: O95817
Purification & Purity:
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Format:
1 mg/ml in Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, approx. pH 7.2.
Storage:
Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
