Background:
A unique family of Cysteine proteases has been described that differs in sequence, structure and substrate specificity from any previously described protease family. This family, Ced-3/caspase-1, is comprised of caspase-1, caspase-2, caspase-3, caspase-4, caspase-6, caspase-7 (also designated Mch3, ICE-LAP3 or CMH-1), caspase-9 and caspase-10. Ced-3/caspase-1 family members function as key components of the apoptotic machinery and act to destroy specific target proteins which are critical to cellular longevity. Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase plays an integral role in surveying for DNA mutations and double strand breaks.
Alternative Name:
Apoptosis related cysteine peptidase, Apoptosis Related Cysteine Protease, Apoptotic protease Mch-3, Apoptotic Protease MCH3, CASP 7, CASP-7, CASP7, Caspase-7 subunit p11, Caspase7, CMH 1, CMH-1, CMH1, ICE LAP3, ICE like Apoptotic Protease 3, ICE-LAP3, ICE-like apoptotic protease 3, MCH3,
Application Dilution: IHC: 1:50~1:200
Specificity: Caspase-7 p20 (D198) polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of the large fragment of caspase-7 resulting from cleavage at Asp198. The antibody does not cross-react with full length caspase-7 or with other caspases.
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide, corresponding to amino acids 180-230 of Human Caspase 7.
MW: ~ 20 kDa
Swis Prot.: P55210
Purification & Purity:
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Format:
1mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide, 50% Glycerol.
Storage:
Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
