Size: 0.1 mg
Isotype: Rabbit Ig
Applications: E, WB, IHC, IP
Protein Family: Transcription Factors
Pathway and Disease: Transcription
Description:
Protein AATF (AATF) functions as a general inhibitor of the histone deacetylase HDAC1. The binding of AATF to the pocket region of RB1 may displace HDAC1 from RB1/E2F complexes, leading to activation of E2F target genes and cell cycle progression. Conversely, displacement of HDAC1 from SP1 bound to the CDKN1A promoter leads to increased expression of this CDK inhibitor and blocks cell cycle progression. AATF also antagonizes PAWR mediated induction of aberrant amyloid peptide production in Alzheimer’s disease (presenile and senile dementia), although the molecular basis for this phenomenon has not been described to date.
Alternate Names: AATF, Protein AATF, Apoptosis-antagonizing transcription factor, Rb-binding protein Che-1, CHE1, DED
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500; IP: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: Q9NY61
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the N-term region of human AATF.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-G affinity chromatography.
