Protein Family: Enzymes, Cytokines, Receptors and Channels, Protein Kinases
Pathway and Disease: Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Signal Transduction
Description:
Activin receptor type-2B (ACTR-IIB), upon ligand binding, forms a receptor complex consisting of two type II and two type I transmembrane serine/threonine kinases. Type II receptors phosphorylate and activate type I receptors which autophosphorylate, then bind and activate SMAD transcriptional regulators. Defects in ACTR-IIB are the cause of visceral heterotaxy autosomal type 4 (HTX4), a form of visceral heterotaxy, a complex disorder due to disruption of the normal left-right asymmetry of the thoracoabdominal organs. HTX4 results in an abnormal arrangement of visceral organs and a wide variety of congenital defects.
Alternate Names: Activin receptor type-2B, Activin receptor 2B, Activin receptor type IIB, ACTR-IIB, ACVR2B
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: Q13705
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the center region (cytoplasmic) of rat ACTR-IIB.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4, 25% glycerol, 1 mg/ml BSA with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
