Description:
ADAM-TS5 cleaves aggrecan, a cartilage proteoglycan, and is involved in its turnover. ADAM-TS5 plays an important role in the destruction of aggrecan in arthritic diseases. ADAM-TS5 also plays a role in proteolytic processing mostly during the peri-implantation period.
