A BALB/c mouse was immunized with alpha fetoprotein isolated from serum of hepatoma patients.
Fusion partner: Sp2/0.
Specifications:
C3 has been characterized in the ISOBM TD-2 workshop and assigned by K. Nunstad to a group of antibodies with low affinity to human alpha fetoprotein. Human alpha fetoprotein is an oncofetal protein of 70 kDa and expressed in fetal liver but normally absent in healthy adult tissues. It is expressed in all yolk sac tumors, in some other germ cell tumors and in hepatocellular carcinomas.
Species reactivity:
Positive: dog, human, monkey, pig. Negative: cow, mouse, rat.
Applications:
C3 is excellent for IHC. In paraffin sections a citrate antigen retrieval step is advised. It can also be used in ELISA, however, the TD-2 workshop found C3 less suitable for an AFP tumor marker test.
ELISA: +
Flow cytometry: +
Frozen sections: +
Immunofluorescence: +
Paraffin sections: Citrate
Positive control: Hep-G2 cells, fetal liver or hepatocellular carcinoma.
