Background:
ALDH18A1 is a member of the aldehyde dehydrogenase family and encodes a bifunctional ATP- and NADPH-dependent mitochondrial enzyme with both gamma-glutamyl kinase and gamma-glutamyl phosphate reductase activities. The encoded protein catalyzes the reduction of glutamate to delta1-pyrroline-5-carboxylate, a critical step in the de novo biosynthesis of proline, ornithine and arginine.
Other Names: Delta-1-pyrroline-5-carboxylate synthase, P5CS, Aldehyde dehydrogenase family 18 member A1, Glutamate 5-kinase, GK, Gamma-glutamyl kinase, Gamma-glutamyl phosphate reductase, GPR, Glutamate-5-semialdehyde dehydrogenase, Glutamyl-gamma-semialdehyde dehydrogenase, ALDH18A1, GSAS, P5CS, PYCS
Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP8938c was selected from the Center region of human ALDH18A1. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Type: Synthetic peptide
Primary Accession: P54886
Gene ID: 5832
Gene Name: ALDH18A1
Format: Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Bio References:
