Size: 0.1 mg
Isotype: Rabbit Ig
Applications: E, WB, IHC
Protein Family: CAM Ligands, Cell Adhesion Molecules, Cellular Antigens, Receptors and Channels
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Cell Communication, Cell Motility, Immune System, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Description:
The integrin alpha-5 antibody recognizes the 115-kDa transmembrane glycoprotein integrin alpha-5 subunit which is the common alpha-5 chain of the very late antigen (VLA) forming a non-covalent heterodimeric complex with the integrin beta-1 subunit, a receptor for fibrinogen and extracellular matrix proteins such as fibronectin. Alpha-5/beta-1 integrin is an important adhesion molecule involved in cell-cell and cell-extracellular matrix interactions by recognizing the RGD canonical sequence in ligands. In addition to adhesion, integrins are known to participate in cell-surface mediated signaling.
Alternate Names: Integrin alpha-5, Fibronectin receptor subunit alpha, Integrin alpha-F, VLA-5, CD49 antigen-like family member E, CD49e, ITGA5, FNRA
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:200-1:500; IHC: 1:200-1:500
Accession No.: P08648
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the N-term region of human integrin alpha-5.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
