Description:
Alpha synuclein is involved in the regulation of dopamine release and transport. Alpha synuclein is only in brain (hippocampus, brainstem and cortex). Found only in the hippocampus, alpha synuclein is specifically expressed in neuronal cell bodies and synapses. Recent evidence suggests that phosphorylation of alpha-synuclein at Ser129 plays a role in the formation of inclusions in Parkinson's Disease (PD).

Alternate Names: Alpha-synuclein, non-A beta component of AD amyloid, non-A4 component of amyloid precursor, NACP, SNCA, NACP, PARK1

Application Notes: E: 1:1,000; WB: 1:1,000

Accession No.: P37377

Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic phosphopeptide encompassing a sequence surrounding Ser129 of human alpha synuclein.
