Description:
Alpha synuclein is involved in the regulation of dopamine release and transport. Alpha synuclein is only in brain (hippocampus, brainstem and cortex). Found only in the hippocampus, alpha synuclein is specifically expressed in neuronal cell bodies and synapses. Recent evidence suggests that phosphorylation of alpha-synuclein at Ser129 plays a role in the formation of inclusions in Parkinson's Disease (PD).

Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic phosphopeptide encompassing a sequence surrounding Ser129 of human alpha synuclein.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 ml IgG in HEPES pH7.5, 150 mM NaCl, 0.1 mg/ml BSA and 50% glycerol. Antibody was purified by immunogen affinity chromatography.
