Background:
Annexin 5 belongs to the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid binding proteins some of which have been implicated in membrane-related events along exocytotic and endocytotic pathways. Annexin 5 is a phospholipase A2 and protein kinase C inhibitory protein with calcium channel activity and a potential role in cellular signal transduction, inflammation, growth and differentiation. Annexin 5 has also been described as placental anticoagulant protein I, vascular anticoagulant-alpha, endonexin II, lipocortin V, placental protein 4 and anchorin CII.
Other Names: Annexin A5, Anchorin CII, Annexin V, Annexin-5, Calphobindin I, CBP-I, Endonexin II, Lipocortin V, Placental anticoagulant protein 4, PP4, Placental anticoagulant protein I, PAP-I, Thromboplastin inhibitor, Vascular anticoagulant-alpha, VAC-alpha, ANXA5, ANX5, ENX2, PP4
Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP6580a was selected from the N-term region of human Annexin V. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Type: Synthetic peptide
Primary Accession: P08758
Gene ID: 308
Gene Name: ANXA5
Format: Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
