Protein Family: Cytoskeleton Proteins
Pathway and Disease: Signal Transduction, Cell Motility, Cancers
Alternate Names: Adenomatous polyposis coli protein; protein APC; DP2.5
Accession No.: P25054, NP_000029
Description:
The adenomatous polyposis coli protein (APC) is a tumor suppressor that promotes rapid degradation of catenin-beta 1 (CTNNB1) and participates in Wnt signaling. The GSK3-beta protein kinase regulates its activity by phosphorylation. APC binds to PDZ domains of DLG1 and 3, to catenins, axin and MAPRE protein family including the EB members.
Format:
Each vial contains 0.1 ml peptide in deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Use at 5.6 ug/ml for a 100X excess over antibody for maximum blocking effect.
MW: 1990.2 g/mol
Sequence:
The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200132 is selected from a sequence within the N-term region of human APC. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
Composition:
C79H136N28O28S2
Purity:
> 80% by HPLC
Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C.
