Size: 0.1 ml
Isotype: Mouse IgG2a
Applications: WB, IHC
Protein Family: Proteoglycans, Receptors and Channels
Pathway and Disease: Neurodegenerative Disorders, Cell Motility, Cell Growth and Death, Transcription, Nervous and Sensory Systems
Description:
APP (Amyloid Protein Precursor) is a cell surface receptor and transmembrane precursor protein that is cleaved by secretases to form a number of peptides. Some of these peptides are secreted and can bind to the acetyltransferase complex APBB1/TIP60 to promote transcriptional activation, whereas others form the protein basis of the amyloid plaques found in the brains of patients with Alzheimer disease. Mutations in this gene have been implicated in autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease and cerebroarterial amyloidosis (cerebral amyloid angiopathy). In addition, APP is associated with neurological disorders related to type II diabetes and Down's syndrome.
Alternate Names: Amyloid beta A4 protein, Alzheimer disease amyloid protein, ABPP, APPI, APP PreA4, Cerebral vascular amyloid peptide, CVAP, Protease nexin-II, PN-II, A4, APP, AD1
Application Notes: WB: 1:500-1:2000; IHC: 1:200-1:1000
