Background:
The cAMP response element (CRE), one of the best studied of such elements, consists of the palindromic octanucleotide TGACGTCA. Several CRE binding proteins have been identified within the ATF/CREB family, the best characterized of which include CREB-1, CREB-2 (also designated ATF-4), ATF-1, ATF-2 and ATF-3. These proteins share highly related COOH terminal leucine zipper dimerization and basic DNA binding domains but are highly divergent in their amino terminal domains. Although each of the ATF/CREB proteins appear capable of binding CRE in its homodimeric form, certain of these also bind as heterodimers, both within the ATF/CREB family and even with members of the AP-1 transcription factor family.
Alternative Name:
Cyclic AMP-dependent transcription factor ATF-4, cAMP-dependent transcription factor ATF-4, Activating transcription factor 4, Cyclic AMP-responsive element-binding protein 2, CREB-2, cAMP-responsive element-binding protein 2, DNA-binding protein TAXREB67, Tax-responsive enhancer element-binding protein 67, TaxREB67, ATF4, CREB2, TXREB
Application Dilution: WB: 1:500 - 1:2000
Specificity: ATF4 polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of ATF4 protein.
Immunogen:
Recombinant full length Human ATF4.
MW: ~ 42 kDa
Swis Prot.: P18848
Purification & Purity:
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Format:
1mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide, 50% Glycerol.
Storage:
Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
