Background:
BAIAP3, a target of p53, is a brain-specific angiogenesis inhibitor. The protein is a seven-span transmembrane protein and a member of the secretin receptor family. It interacts with the cytoplasmic region of brain-specific angiogenesis inhibitor 1. This protein also contains two C2 domains, which are often found in proteins involved in signal transduction or membrane trafficking. Its expression pattern and similarity to other proteins suggest that it may be involved in synaptic functions.

Other Names: BAI1-associated protein 3, BAP3, BAIAP3, KIAA0734

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP8175a was selected from the C-term region of human BAIAP3 . A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Type: Synthetic peptide
