Size: 0.1 mg
Isotype: Rabbit Ig
Applications: E, WB
Protein Family: Cellular Antigens
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Cell Growth and Death, Neurodegenerative Disorders, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Description:
Apoptosis regulator BAX (BAX or Bcl-2-like protein 4) accelerates programmed cell death by binding to and antagonizing the apoptosis repressor BCL2 or its adenovirus homolog E1B 19k protein. BAX induces the release of cytochrome c, activation of caspase-3 and apoptosis. BAX forms heterodimers with BCL2, Bcl-X(L), MCL1 and A1 by interacting with BH3 domains in BIK, BID, BAK, and BAD. Defects in BAX are found in some cell lines from hematopoietic malignancies.
Alternate Names: Bax, Bcl-2 associated X protein, Apoptosis regulator BAX, Bcl-2-like protein 4, Bcl-2-like protein 4, Bcl2-L-4, BAX, BCL2L4
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: Q07812
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the N-term region of human BAX.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4, 0.1 mg/ml BSA, 50% glycerol with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by immunogen affinity chromatography.
