Size: 0.1 mg
Isotype: Rabbit Ig
Applications: E, WB, IHC
Protein Family: Cell Adhesion Molecules
Pathway and Disease: Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Description:
The bone Gla protein (BGP or osteocalcin) is a vitamin K-dependent calcium-binding protein synthesized by osteoblasts and found primarily in bone (1-2% of total bone proteins). Serum BGP measurement provides a noninvasive specific marker for bone metabolism. BGP, which contains 3 gamma-carboxyglutamic acid (Gla) residues, binds to hydroxyapatite in presence of calcium and promotes calcium accumulation in the bone matrix.
Alternate Names: Osteocalcin, Gamma-carboxyglutamic acid-containing protein, Bone Gla protein, BGP, BGLAP
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:200-1:500; IHC: 1:200-1:500
Accession No.: P02818
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the N-term region of human BGP.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
