Description:
This antibody recognizes the C5b-9 complement components, also named the terminal complement complex (TCC) that consists of the C5b, C6, C7, C8 and C9 components. The antibody specifically binds to a neoepitope exposed on C9 component upon complex formation in both membrane-bound (MAC) and fluid phase (SC5b-9) complexes. The antibody can be used for detecting C5b-9 in ELISA and immunohistocytology. The neoepitope is destroyed upon complex disruption during a western blot procedure.

Application Notes: This antibody recognizes human C5b-9, also called the terminal complement complex (TCC) made of C5b, C6, C7, C8 and C9. The antibody is directed against a neoepitope exposed in C9 upon TCC complex formation. The antibody does not work in WB but is suitable for IHC with frozen and paraffin sections. The antibody also reacts with porcine and equine TCC.
