Size: 0.1 mg
Isotype: Rabbit Ig
Applications: E, WB, IHC, IP
Protein Family: Chaperones and Folding Catalysts
Pathway and Disease: Immune System, Infectious Diseases
Description:
Inactive caspase-12 (caspase-12) reduces cytokine release in response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide during infections. Caspase-12 reduces reduces activation of NF-kappa-B in response to TNF. Caspase-12 does not have protease activity. The most frequent caspase-12 variant has a stop codon instead of Arg-125, giving rise to a truncated protein (Csp12-S). The variant Arg-125 (Csp12-L) is rare, except in some populations from sub-Saharan Africa. Csp12-L may increase the susceptibility to severy sepsis, and may also increase the mortality rate in sepsis patients.
Alternate Names: Caspase-12, Inactive caspase-12, CASP12, CASP-12
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500; IP: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: Q6UXS9
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the N-term region of mouse caspase-12.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
