Size: 0.1 mg
Isotype: Rabbit Ig
Applications: E, WB, IHC
Protein Family: Proteoglycans, CAM Ligands, Cell Adhesion Molecules, Cellular Antigens
Pathway and Disease: Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Immune System, Infectious Diseases
Description:
CD44 antigen (CD44) is a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA). CD44 mediates cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions through its affinity for HA, and possibly also through its affinity for other ligands such as osteopontin, collagens, and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). The adhesion with HA plays an important role in cell migration, tumor growth and progression. CD44 is also involved in lymphocyte activation, recirculation and homing, and in hematopoiesis. CD44 is responsible for the Indian blood group system. The molecular basis of the In(A)=In1/In(B)=In2 blood group antigens is a single variation in position 46; In(B), the most frequent allele, has Arg-46.
Alternate Names: CD44, CD44 antigen, Phagocytic glycoprotein I, PGP-I, HUTCH-I, Extracellular matrix receptor III, ECMR-III, GP90 lymphocyte homing/adhesion receptor, Hermes antigen, Hyaluronate receptor, Heparan sulfate proteoglycan, Epican, CDw44
Application Notes: E: 1:1,000-1:5,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: P16070
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the C-term region of human CD44.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4, 25% glycerol, 5 mg/ml BSA with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A affinity chromatography.
