Size: 0.1 mg
Isotype: Rabbit Ig
Applications: E, WB, IHC
Protein Family: Hormones
Pathway and Disease: Endocrine System, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Description:
The calcitonin family of bioactive peptides comprises of calcitonin, amylin, adrenomedullin (ADM) and two calcitonin-gene related peptides (CGRP1 and CGRP2). CGRP is a 37-aa peptide produced by tissue specific processing of calcitonin. Calcitonin is the major product in the thyroid, whereas CGRP is prominent in neural tissues. CGRP is a potent cardiovascular agent with structural similarity with amylin. CGRP is found in two isoforms (CGRP-I and CGRP-II) that differ only by 3 amino acids.
Alternate Names: Calcitonin gene-related peptide 1, Calcitonin gene-related peptide I, CGRP-I, Alpha-type CGRP, CALCA, CALC1, Calcitonin gene-related peptide 2, Calcitonin gene-related peptide II, CGRP-II, beta-type CGRP, CALCB, CALC2
Application Notes: The product Cat. No. 250602 reacts with CGRP1 and CGRP2. E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: P06881, P10092
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the C-term region of mouse CGRP.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4, 25% glycerol, 0.1 mg/ml BSA with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A affinity chromatography.
