Description:
The muscarinic acetylcholine receptor mediates various cellular responses, including inhibition of the adenylate cyclase breakdown of phosphoinositidess and modulation of potassium channels through the action pf G proteins. Its primary transducing effect is adenylate cyclase inhibition. It is an integral membrane protein and belongs to the G protein coupled receptor 1 family.
