Size: 0.1 mg
Isotype: Mouse IgG1/k
Applications: E
Protein Family: Receptors and Channels, Peptidases
Pathway and Disease: Infectious Diseases, Nervous and Sensory Systems, Neurodegenerative Disorders
Description:
Clostridium tetani is a Gram-positive, motile bacterium found in soil and animal feces. Toxigenic strains of C. tetani contain a plasmid encoding the potent exotoxin which causes tetanus (lockjaw). The toxin is synthesized as a single 150 kDa protein chain which is cleaved ("nicked") into a 100 kDa heavy chain (fragment B) and a 50 kDa light chain (fragment A) connected by a disulfide bridge. Tetanus toxoid is produced by prolonged incubation of the toxin with formaldehyde and lysine, and is often used as a carrier for compounds of poor immunogenicity. This antibody specifically reacts and neutralizes Clostridium tetani toxoid and toxin.
Alternate Names: Tentoxylysin, tetanus toxin, tetX
Application Notes: Product Cat. No. 250421 neutralizes tetanus toxin efficiently enough to protect mice in the in-vivo test of tetanus antitoxin activity. E: 1:8,000
Accession No.: P04958
Antigen: Tetanus toxoid adsorbed to aluminum hydroxide gel
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A/G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at 4°C. Product is guaranteed 6 months from the date of shipment.
