Description:
Connexin-37 (Gap junction alpha-4 protein, GJA4) forms connexons at cell gap junctions through which materials of low MW diffuse from one cell to a neighboring cell. Connexons are composed of a hexamer of connexins. Connexin-37 is expressed in multiple organs and tissues, including heart, uterus, ovary, or blood vessel endothelium.
