Size: 0.1 mg
Isotype: Rabbit Ig
Applications: E, WB
Protein Family: Enzymes
Pathway and Disease: Cell Growth and Death, Replication and Repair, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Description:
Cyclin O (CCNO) has recently been identified as a Cdk1- and Cdk2-activating cyclin specific to apoptosis in lymphoid cells. Cyclin O binds to and activates Cdk2 in response to intrinsec apoptotic stimuli such as glucocorticoids or DNA-damaging agents. Suppression of Cyclin O expression by shRNA leads to the inhibition of glucocorticoid and DNA-damage-induced apoptosis due to a failure of apical caspase activation while leaving the CD95 death receptor-mediated apoptosis intact. This protein was previously called UNG2 after being erroneously identified as a uracil DNA glycolase, but later identified as a cyclin protein family member. This antibody binds to the two isoforms of Cyclin O.
Alternate Names: Cyclin O, CCNO, cyclin-O
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: NP_066970
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the N-term region of human Cyclin O.
