Description: Fascin, an actin-binding protein, induces parallel actin bundles in cell protrusions and cell motility after the formation of lamellipodia or filopodia. The Fascin antibody labels dendritic cells in normal and tumor tissues. It is a sensitive marker for Reed-Sternberg cells in Hodgkin’s lymphoma (HL). Thus, Fascin is useful for the identification of Hodgkin’s lymphoma as well as dendritic tumor. Given its primary function in inducing membrane protrusions and increasing cell motility, in addition to serving as a marker for the identification of HL and dendritic tumor, overexpression of fasci has been shown to be correlated with disease progression in several types of human tumors including cancers of the lung, ovarian, breast, pancreas, esophagus, stomach, colon, and skin. An IHC study of 58 primary breast carcinomas suggested that estrogen (ER) and progesterone (PR) receptor levels were inversely correlated with the expression of fascinLocalization: cytoplasmDilution: 50-200Positive Control: tonsil, Hodgkin's lymphomaHIER: citrate pH6.0Status: RUO
