Size: 0.1 ml
Isotype: Rabbit Ig
Applications: E, WB, IF
Protein Family: Hormones
Pathway and Disease: Endocrine System, Metabolic Disorders, Energy Metabolism
Description:
Fat mass and obesity related protein (FTO) gene is the most robust gene for common obesity characterized to date. FTO gene expression has been found to be significantly upregulated in the hypothalamus of rats after food deprivation and strongly negatively correlated with the expression of orexin peptide which is involved in the stimulation of food intake. Deletion analysis of FTO gene in mice showed that FTO is functionally involved in the control of both energy intake and energy expenditure.
Alternate Names: Alpha-ketoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase FTO, Fat mass and obesity-associated protein, FTO
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:1,000; IF: 1:100
Accession No.: Q9C0B1
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within human FTO.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of HEPES (pH7.5), 0.01% BSA, with 50% glycerol. Antibody was purified by Protein-G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
