Gentamicin Sulfate is a bactericidal antibiotic, made from Micromonospora purpurea, with activity against Gram-negative bacteria. It is used to treat bacterial infections and works by irreversibly binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, inhibiting its protein synthesis.
