Size: 0.1 mg
Isotype: Rabbit Ig
Applications: E, WB, IHC
Protein Family: Receptors and Channels, Transporters
Pathway and Disease: Membrane Transport, Nervous and Sensory Systems, Neurodegenerative Disorders
Description:
Sodium-dependent glutamate/aspartate transporter 1 (GLAST-1) transports L-glutamate and also L- and D-aspartate. GLAST-1 is essential for terminating the postsynaptic action of glutamate by rapidly removing released glutamate from the synaptic cleft. GLAST-1 acts as a symport by cotransporting sodium. Defects in GLAST-1 are the cause of episodic ataxia type 6 (EA6). EA6 is characterized by episodic ataxia, seizures, migraine and alternating hemiplegia.
Alternate Names: EAAT1, GLAST-1, Excitatory amino acid transporter 1, Sodium-dependent glutamate/aspartate transporter 1, Solute carrier family 1 member 3, SLC1A3, GLAST, GLAST1
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: P43003
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the C-term region of human GLAST-1.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4, 25% glycerol, 5 mg/ml BSA with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by immunogen affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
