Protein Family: Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Immune System, Infectious Diseases
Alternate Names: GRO-alpha, GRO alpha, GROα, GRO, MGSA, CXCL1 protein, Growth-regulated alpha protein, C-X-C motif chemokine 1, Melanoma growth stimulatory activity, Neutrophil-activating protein 3, NAP-3, GRO-alpha(1-73), CINC-1Description:
GRO alpha, also known as CXCL1, is a chemokine thought to have mitogenic properties and chemoattract neutrophils. Secreted by macrophages, epithelial cells, neutrophils and melanomas, GRO alpha signals through chemokine receptor, CXCR2, and has been implicated in the processes of spinal cord formation, inflammation, angiogenesis, tumorigenesis, and wound healing. Mouse GRO alpha is produced in E.coli. Recombinant mouse GROα is a non-glycosylated protein, containing 72 amino acids, with a molecular weight of 7.8 kDa.
Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.05ng/ug or <0.5EU/ug.
Applications: E, WB
Application Notes:
The activity is determined by its ability to chemoattract human neutrophils cells and is typically 10 -100 ng/mL. Specific activity: 1 x 10e5 units/mg
Accession No.: P47931
MW: 7800 Da
Sequence:
APIANELRCQ CLQTMAGIHL KNIQSLKVLP SGPHCTQTEV IATLKNGREA CLDPEAPLVQ KIVQKMLKGV PK
Purity:
Purity > 95% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Format:
Each vial contains 20 ug of lyophilized protein. Reconstitute with 0.2 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
