Protein Family: Cytokines

Pathway and Disease: Immune System, Signaling Molecules and Interaction

Alternate Names: Growth-regulated protein beta, C-X-C motif chemokine 2, Macrophage inflammatory protein 2-alpha, MIP2-alpha, Gro-beta, CXCL2, GRO2, GROB, MIP2A, SCYB2Description:
Three human MGSA/GRO genes encode 3 highly related chemokines, MGSA/GRO alpha, -beta and -gamma. The MGSA/GRO proteins bind to the same receptors with different affinities. They stimulate a number of biological responses including chemotaxis, angiogenesis, and growth regulation. Recombinant Human GRO-beta (MIP2-alpha) produced in E. coli is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 73 amino acids with a MW of 7,908 Da.

Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.01ng/ug or <0.1EU/ug.

Applications: E, WB

Application Notes:
GRO-beta is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The Biological activity is calculated by its ability to chemoattract CXCR2 transfected 293 cells, with an expected range of 8 - 80 ng/ml.

Accession No.: P19875

MW: 7908 Da

Sequence:
APLATELRCQ CLQTLQGIHL KNIQSVKVKS PGPHCAQTEV IATLKNGQKA CLNPASPMVK KIIEKMLKNG KSN

Purity:
Purity > 98% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.

Format:
Each vial contains 10 ug of lyophilized protein. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.

Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
