Protein Family: Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Cell Communication, Cell Motility, Cancers
Alternate Names: Heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor, HB-EGF, HBEGF, Diphtheria toxin receptor, DT-R, DTR, DTS, HEGFLDescription:
Heparin Binding EGF-like Growth Factor (HB-EGF) is a growth factor expressed by monocytes and macrophages. HB-EGF mediates its effects via EGFR, ERBB2 and ERBB4 and has higher binding affinity to the EGFR than EGF itself. It is a mitogen for fibroblasts and smooth muscle cells, but not endothelial cells. Human HB-EGF is produced in E. coli as a non-glycosylated protein, containing 87 amino acids, with a molecular weight of 9.9 kDa.
Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.05ng/ug or <0.5EU/ug.
Applications: E, WB
Application Notes:
The activity is determined by the ability to induce proliferation of 3T3 cells and is typically less than 0.2 ng/mL. Specific activity: 5 x 10e6 units/mg
Accession No.: Q99075
MW: 9900 Da
Sequence:
MDLQEADLDL LRVTLSSKPQ ALATPNKEEH GKRKKKGKGL GKKRDPCLRK YKDFCIHGEC KYVKELRAPS CICHPGYHGE RCHGLSL
Purity:
Purity > 95% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Format:
Each vial contains 50 ug of lyophilized protein. Reconstitute with 0.5 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
Pathway and Disease: Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Cell Communication, Cell Motility, Cancers
