Isotype: Rabbit Ig
Applications: E, WB, IHC
Protein Family: Enzymes
Pathway and Disease: Amino Acid Metabolism
Description:
Histidine decarboxylase (HDC) is the enzyme that catalyzes the reaction that produces histamine from histidine with the help of vitamin B6 as follows: C6H9N3O2 → C5H9N3 + CO2. In humans, the histidine decarboxylase enzyme is encoded by the HDC gene. The biogenic amine histamine is an important modulator of numerous physiologic processes, including neurotransmission, gastric acid secretion, and smooth muscle tone. The biosynthesis of histamine from histidine is catalyzed by the enzyme L-histidine decarboxylase. This homodimeric enzyme is a pyridoxal phosphate (PLP)-dependent decarboxylase and is highly specific for its histidine substrate.
Alternate Names: L-HDC, HDC, Histidine decarboxylase
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: P19113
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the N-term region of human HDC.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4, 0.1 mg/ml BSA, 25% glycerol with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A and immunogen affinity chromatography.
