Size: 0.1 mg
Isotype: Mouse IgG1
Applications: E, WB
Protein Family: Peptidases
Pathway and Disease: Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Description:
Hirudin is a highly effective and very specific anticoagulant which inhibits formation of fibrin and activation of factors V, VIII and XIII by forming irreversible, noncovalent 1:1 complexes with alpha-thrombin. Hirudin is used to treat heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (Refludan/Hoechst Marion Roussel). Hirudin is a 7 kDa protein naturally originating from the medical leech Hirudo medicinalis. This antibody recognizes hirudin under both native and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE. The antibody binds to an epitope in the C-terminal region of hirudin with an affinity of 450 nM.
Alternate Names: Hirudin variant-1, lepirudin
Application Notes: Product Cat. No. 250211 reacts in western blot with hirudin in both reduced and non-reduced forms. Antibody binding to hirudin does not block interaction with alpha-thrombin. E: 1:2,000; WB: 1:500
Accession No.: P01050
Antigen: Recombinant hirudin (rHV2) produced in S. cerevisiae and coupled to diphteria toxoid.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A/G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at 4°C. Product is guaranteed 6 months from the date of shipment.
