Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein L (HNRNPL) is a splicing factor binding to exonic or intronic sites and acting as either an activator or repressor of exon inclusion. HNRNPL displays a binding preference for CA-rich elements. It is associated with most nascent transcripts. HNRNPL is localized in cytoplasmic mRNP granules containing untranslated mRNAs.
