- Inhibition-Resistant Taq DNA Polymerases are obtained by molecular engineering through mutagenesis of DNA polymerase gene to render enzymes resistant to PCR inhibitors such as blood, plasma, serum, soil, plant, water, chocolate, cheese and milk.

- Up to 40% whole blood, plasma or serum are tolerated and varying amounts of soil, plant and inhibitory foods.

Hot-start OmniTaq DNA Polymerase is a blend of OmniTaq DNA Polymerase and an aptamer-based inhibitor. This inhibitor binds to the enzyme reversibly, inhibiting polymerase activity at low temperatures. During normal cycling conditions, the inhibitor releases the enzyme, allowing reactions to be set up at room temperature. This prevents the formation of primer dimer and spurious amplification, increasing the specificity of the reaction. Hot-start OmniTaq DNA Polymerase is compatible with real-time PCR, including DNA binding dyes like SYBR Green and Eva Green, as well as TaqMan assays that require 5'-exonuclease activity.
