Background Information: IL-21 induces the production of IgG1 and IgG3 in B-cells. IL-21 may promote the transition between innate and adaptive immunity. IL-21 may have a role in proliferation and maturation of natural killer cells in synergy with IL15. IL-21 stimulates interferon gamma production in T-cells and natural killer cells by synergy with IL15 and IL18. Dysregulation of IL-21 has a role in multiple immune-mediated diseases including lupus, psoriasis and chronic inflammatory diseases.

Target Name: Interleukin-21;IL-21; Za11; IL21

Source:
Recombinant Human IL-21 (accession number Q9HBE4) (Gln30-Ser162) is expressed in E.coli.

Molecular Weight:
The 133 amino acid protein has the predicted molecular weight of 15.6kDa. The protein migrates at approximately 16kDa on SDS-PAGE with DTT-reduced condition

Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution of PBS, PH7.4.

Bioactivity: Bioassay in development

Endotoxin level: Less than 0.1 ng/ug (1 EU/ug) as determined by LAL test.

Reconstitution:
Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.

Storage and Handling:
Lyophilized protein should be stored at < -20°C, though stable at room temperature for 3 weeks. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-7°C for 2-7 days. Aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable at < -20°C for 3 months.
