Protein Family: Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Immune System, Metabolic Disorders, Cancers
Alternate Names: interleukin-2, IL-2, T-cell growth factor, TCGF, IL2Description:
Interleukin-2 (IL-2 or T-cell growth factor) is an immunomodulatory cytokine produced by stimulated T-cells. IL-2 is required for T-cell proliferation and other activities crucial to regulation of the immune system. IL-2 activity is signaled via interaction with the IL-2R receptor. It can stimulate B-cells, monocytes, lymphokine-activated killer cells, natural killer cells, and glioma cells. Recombinant mouse IL-2 produced in E. coli is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 149 amino acids with a MW of 17,231 Da.
Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.01ng/ug or <0.1EU/ug.
Applications: E, WB
Application Notes:
Under Analysis
Accession No.: P04351
MW: 17231 Da

Purity:
Purity > 98% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Format:
Each vial contains 20 ug protein lyophilized in 10 mM sodium citrate pH4.0. Reconstitute with 0.2 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
