Protein Family: Cytokines

Pathway and Disease: Immune System, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction

Alternate Names: Interleukin-33, IL-33, interleukin-1 family member 11, IL-1F11, Nuclear factor from high endothelial venules, NF-HEV, IL33, C9orf26, NFHEVDescription:
Interleukin 33 (IL-33) is a member of the IL-1 cytokine family and is constitutively expressed in smooth muscle cells and the airway epithelium. IL-33 signals through receptors, IL-1RL1 and IL-1RAP, to induce type 2cytokine production in polarized Th2 cells. Mouse IL-33 is produced in E.coli. Recombinant mouse IL-33 is a non-glycosylated protein, containing 159 amino acids, with a molecular weight of 17.7 kDa.

Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.05ng/ug or <0.5EU/ug.

Applications: E, WB

Application Notes:
The activity is determined by the ability to induce the proliferation of D10S cells and is typically less than 1 ng/mL. Specific activity: 1 x 10e6 units/mg

Accession No.: Q8BVZ5

MW: 17700 Da

Purity:
Purity > 95% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.

Format:
Each vial contains 10 ug of lyophilized protein. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.

Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
