Protein Family: Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Immune System, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Alternate Names: interleukin-4, IL-4, b-cell stimulatory factor, BSF-1, lymphocyte stimulatory factor 1, binetrakin, pitrakinraDescription:
Interleukin-4 (IL-4), produced primarily by CD4(+) T cells is an immunomodulatory cytokine, which can inhibit the growth of tumour cells. IL-4 has been known as a Th2 cytokine and can act on B cells, T cells, and monocytes. IL-4 has an antitumor activity in rodent experimental gliomas, which is likely mediated by the actions of IL-4 on a variety of immune cells present in and around the tumor masses. Recombinant Human IL-4 produced in E. coli is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 130 amino acids with a MW of 15,000 Da.
Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.01ng/ug or <0.1EU/ug.
Applications: E, WB
Application Notes:
Recombinant Human Interleukin-4 is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as measured by CD23 receptor binding on human proliferal macrophages at a concentration of 1.8 ng/ml.
Accession No.: P05112
MW: 15000 Da
Sequence:

Purity:
Purity > 98% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Format:
Each vial contains 10 ug of lyophilized protein. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Immune System, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
