Protein Family: Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Immune System, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Alternate Names: interleukin-6, IL-6, b-cell stimulatory factor 2, BSF-2, interferon beta-2, hybridoma growth factor, CTL differentiation factor, CDFDescription:
Interleukin (IL)-6 is an important proinflammatory and immunoregulatory cytokine. It is expressed by various cells and .has been shown to inhibit the growth of early stage melanoma cells in vitro. In contrast, it promotes the proliferation of advanced stage melanoma cells in vitro. Recombinant Rat IL-6 produced in E. coli is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 187 amino acids with a MW of 21,732 Da.
Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.01ng/ug or <0.1EU/ug.
Applications: E, WB
Application Notes:
Recombinant Rat IL-6 is fully biologically active when compared to standard. A dose-dependent stimulation of mouse 7TD1 cells showed an ED50 of < 0.01 ng/ml.
Accession No.: P20607
MW: 21732 Da
Sequence:

Purity:
Purity > 90% as determined by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Format:
Each vial contains 10 ug protein lyophilized in 0.1% TFA. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml sterile 10 mM HCl for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Immune System, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
