Protein Family: Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Immune System, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Alternate Names: interleukin-9, IL-9, T-cell growth factor P40, P40 cytokineDescription:
Interleukin-9 (IL-9) is known to regulate many cell types involved in T-helper type 2 responses classically associated with asthma, including B- and T-lymphocytes, mast cells, eosinophils and epithelial cells. Growing evidence obtained from human genomic analysis and antigen-challenged transgenic mice suggests that IL-9 is a candidate factor in immunoglobulin E (IgE) production and thus is thought to be associated with bronchial inflammation and bronchial hyper-responsiveness (BHR). Recombinant Human IL-9 produced in E. coli is a single non-glycosylated single polypeptide chain containing 127 amino acids with a MW of 14,004 Da.
Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.01ng/ug or <0.1EU/ug.
Applications: E, WB
Application Notes:
IL-9 is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of human MO7e cells is < 0.5 ng/ml.
Accession No.: P15248
MW: 14004 Da
Sequence:
MQGCPTLAGI LDINFLINKM QEDPASKCHC SANVTSCLCL GIPSDNCTRP CFSERLSQMT NTTMQTRYPL IFSRVKKSVE VLKNNKCPYF SCEQPCNQTT AGNALTFLKS LLEIFQKEKM RGMRGKI
Purity:
Purity > 98% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Format:
Each vial contains 10 ug protein lyophilized in 10 mM sodium phosphate pH7.5. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
