Protein Family: Cellular Antigens, Enzymes, Protein Kinases, Receptors and Channels
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Endocrine System, Immune System, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Alternate Names: Mast/stem cell growth factor receptor; SCFR; Proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase Kit; c-kit; CD117 antigen; KIT
Accession No.: P10721
Description:
KIT is the receptor for stem cell factor (mast cell growth factor). KIT has a tyrosine protein kinase activity. Defects in KIT are a cause of piebaldism (lack of melanocytes), gastrointestinal stromal tumors and testicular tumors.
Format:
Each vial contains 0.1 mg of lyophilized peptide. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Use at 5.6 ug/ml for a 100X excess over antibody for maximum blocking effect.
MW: 1922.1 g/mol
Sequence:
The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200111 is selected from a sequence within the C-term region of human KIT. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
Composition:
C80H128N24O29S1
Purity:
> 80% by HPLC
Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C.
