Background:
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of thekeratin gene family. The type II cytokeratins consist of basic orneutral proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratinchains coexpressed during differentiation of simple and stratifiedepithelial tissues. This type II cytokeratin is specificallyexpressed in the corneal epithelium with family member KRT12 andmutations in these genes have been associated with Meesmann'sCorneal Dystrophy. The type II cytokeratins are clustered in aregion of chromosome 12q12-q13.
Other Names:
Keratin, type II cytoskeletal 3, 65 kDa cytokeratin, Cytokeratin-3, CK-3, Keratin-3, K3, Type-II keratin Kb3, KRT3
Gene Name: KRT3
Gene ID: 3850
Primary Accession: P12035
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
