KRT5 FISH Probe is used to detect KRT5 gene aneusomy.
The KRT5 gene, located on chromosome 12q13.13, codes a type II cytokeratin proteins which are coexpressed during differentiation of simple and stratified epithelial tissues. Abberations of KRT5 is commonly observed in skin cancer, breast cancer, bladder cancer, and malignant mesothelioma.
