The RET FISH Probe 10q11 is used to detect RET gene aneusomy.
The RET proto-oncogene codes for a tyrosine kinase. Mutations of the RET gene result in an overactive signaling function triggering uncontrolled cell division. Mutations of the RET gene resulting in gain of function are associated with multiple endocrine neoplasia types IIA and IIB, medullary thyroid carcinoma, pheochromocytoma and parathyroid tumors. Rearrangements with over 15 different partners have been identified.
Empire Genomics has developed a custom RET probe which can be used to detect/confirm a rearrangement of the RET gene. The probe comes labeled in orange, and you may also choose to customize the probe to meet your needs.
