Used by brewing industry for the differentiation of brewing yeasts from wild yeasts.

Composition/Liter
- Peptic digest of animal tissue 5.0 g
- Yeast extract 3.0 g
- Malt extract 3.0 g
- Dextrose 10.0 g
- Basic fuchsin 0.47 g
- Sodium sulphite 2.92 g
- Dextrin 0.11 g
- Agar 20.0 g
- Total= Use 44.5 g/L of distilled water
- Final pH (at 25°C) 6.9 ± 0.2
