High Quality & Proven Performance in RNA In Vitro Transcription Reactions
Information
Datasheet
SP6 RNA Polymerase is a recombinant protein from SP6 bacteriophage produced in E. coli. Highly specific for the SP6 promoter that makes it distinct from those of analogous enzymes. It catalyzes efficiently the synthesis of RNA from double-stranded DNA.
GMP-grade is also available.
Advantages & Features
- Isolated form a recombinant source.
- Extensivelly quality controlled: Endo/exonucleases, non-specific DNAse and RNAses free, Purity and Promoter Specificity.
- Flexible Quality Systems that covers from RUO to cGMP.
- High-Purity: ≥ 95% determined by SDS.
Specifications
Protein information:
- Predicted MW: 98,55 kDa.
- Purity: ≥ 95% by SDS-PAGE.
- Storage Buffer: 50mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 7.9 at 25°C), 100mM NaCl, 20 mM β-ME, 1mM EDTA, 0.1% (v/v) Triton® X-100, 50% (v/v) glycerol.
- Biological activity: One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to catalyze the incorporation of 5 nmol of CTP into acid-insoluble product in 60 minutes at 37 °C.
Gene information:
- Official Symbol: SP6 RNAP.
- Specie SP6: Bacteriophage.
- GenBank accession number: AY288927.2
- NCBI Protein RefSeq: P06221.
- Protein Family: Phage and mitochondrial DNA-dependent RNA Polymerase.
Includes
2,000 U SP6 RNA Polymerase (20U/µL)
Applications
- In vitro mRNA synthesis (DNA sequence to transcript must be cloned downstream SP6 promoter).
- Probes generation for its ability to incorporate 32P, 35S and 3H and fluorescent nucleotide analogs.
- RNAse protection assay.
- RNA amplification.
- Obtention of RNA targets for translation procedures.
Shipping & Storage
Shipped in: Gel Pack.
Storage: -20 ºC (NON Frost-Free Freezer).
GMP-grade is also available.
