The heating block has 24 conical holes for 1.5-ml reaction vials, as well as a cover plate and a transport rod. The accurate temperature range is 5°C (over the ambient temperature) to 150°C. The temperature resolution is 0.1°C, temperature homogeneity ± 0.2°C and temperature accuracy ± 0.3°C. The heater has a large lighted LCD display protected by a watertight plastic membrane, as well as an arrow key. The instrument is made of stainless steel with an aluminium heating block. In addition, it has an RS232 interface for transmitting temperature data to a PC.
