Source:
A BALB/c mouse was immunized with human thymic nuclear extract.
Fusion partner: Sp2/0.
Specifications:
LN-6 reacts with vimentin, a 58kDa protein, and specifically with a non-hematopoieticepitope of vimentin. It shows no cross-reaction with other closely related intermediate filament proteins (IFP) such as desmin, keratin, neurofilament, and glial fibrillary acid protein. Vimentin is ubiquitously expressed in mesenchymal cells such as fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, and endothelium. Antibody against vimentin is useful as part of an antibody panel for differential diagnosis of tumors of unknown origin. It does not react with leukocyte common antigen-positive tissues such as lymphomas and leukemias.
Species reactivity:
Positive: cat, cow, human, mouse, pig, rabbit, rat, sheep.
Applications:
Identification of sarcomas, melanomas, and meningiomas. Differentiation of sarcomas from lymphomas.
Flow cytometry: +
Frozen sections: +
Immunofluorescence: +
Paraffin sections: Citrate
Positive control: Jurkat cells, sarcomas, melanomas.
